My wife was driving my 2004 Chrysler Town & Country and smelled gas. She pulled over and noticed a small gash in the side of the tank. She obviously ran something over and it pierced the tank. My concern is, how come there is no protective shroud around a plastic gas tank that sits right under my 3 year olds car seat? thankfully she smelled the gas immediately and there was no fire. This may not be the case in the future. I contacted Chrysler's customer service hotline and was told there is no recall, to contact the NHTSA. I have also sent an email to Chrysler voicing my concerns and am waiting for a reply. Please look into this issue to avoid any fatalities. Thank you.
