The steering rack on my 2006 Chrysler van needed to be replaced, since it was leaking. The van had 39,006 miles on it. I have my oil changed every 3,000 miles. The steering rack was not leaking at the last oil change. Chrysler stated my van was out of warranty and would not cover the cost of the repair which was $570.

Whinning-nosies from power steering unit or rack. The fluid is full, but the unit makes a noise like it's out of fluid. The noise is getting a lot worse.
