The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. The contact was driving 35 mph when the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was restarted within a minute however, the steering wheel had become very difficult to steer. A certified mechanic inspected the vehicle and advised that both the condenser and compressor had seized. The vehicle was driven to a repair shop where the rec, air conditioner line, compressor, oil and oil filter were replaced at the contacts expense. The dealer was contacted who confirmed there were no recalls. The manufacturer was contacted who advised that because the vehicle was not taken to the dealer, they were unwilling to assist. The failure mileage was 65,403.

2008 Chrysler T&C limited w/ 4 liter engine. Since the vehicle was new it periodically produces large plumes of smoke when starting the vehicle. Several trips to two dealerships resulted in no diagnostic action because the problem was not reproducible at the dealership. After several calls to Chrysler and trips to two dealerships, the problem finally surfaced at the original dealership. The diagnosis was a bad PCV valve and it was replaced. However, when picking up the vehicle after the repair, the vehicle again smoked while in the presence of the service manager. The problem still remains at 27,000 miles. The vehicle consumes twice the amount of oil as the owner's 2000 Chrysler T&C with 160,000 miles and three times as much oil as the owner's 1998 Buick century with 135,000 miles. A consumption test was conducted at the 2nd dealership and they reported that the oil consumption was within Chrysler's specifications.
