Chrysler - Bad business not fixing your TIPM problems. Probably the last Chrysler I'll ever buy...and anyone who asks me about my van - I'll be sure to let them know that Chrysler could care less about their customers.

Fuel pump went out on car and had trouble starting vehicle. Dealership had trouble fixing the issue. I know now that issues was caused more than likely by the TIPM that needs to be replaced as it has caused multiple other issues.

Once again another problem with the TIPM. Thing is I had an extended warranty that would have covered back at 99,000 miles, but they wanted to see the problem happen when the whole time they knew what was wrong with it.

I decided to look up information on fixing the fuel pump and stumbled upon all this great info, and stories of what is going on with Chrysler Town & Country vans. The more I read the more amazed I became because everything I read explained what my vehicle is doing. Now I have to get this fixed. It's really awful that Chrysler is doing this and they haven't even recalled my type of vehicle considering the Chrysler Town & Country vans are having this huge issue with the TIPM'S and the Fuel Pump Relay being extremely faulty. Shame on Chrysler! I will get on her and up date my information as soon as I get it fixed.

Town & Country Limited 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 41,000 miles

Detected noise from fuel pump running after parked/off for ~3 hours in garage.

Noticed fuel pump was running due to intermittent squealing noise from continuous operation. Could detect elevated temperature on exterior of gas tank in region where gas pump is located in gas tank. Fearful of fire, I disconnected car battery to stop pump from running. Pump had been running long enough to drain car battery and potentially damage fuel pump. Other earlier TIPM issues occurred when van was under factory warranty but never diagnosed properly (issue starting, stalling when driving, windows/doors opening randomly, car remote starting randomly, issue with key detection, etc.) . Chrysler Service refused to consider this a pre-exiting issue and would not cover TIPM replacement under factory warranty. Chrysler would only reflash software when van was serviced under factory warranty.

Note that I was finally able to purchase TIPM and install myself. The instructions required rewiring of the harness (swapping 4 wires within the connector housing). This is typically required when there is electromagnetic interference due to proximity issues in the electrical circuit. Chrysler refuses to admit there is a design issue, however. Van is now running without issue, except for airbag warning light. This cannot be reset without paying Chrysler to service.
