My spouse was in a drive through at a fast food restaurant when she experienced unintended acceleration. She took her foot from the brake and lightly touched the accelerator at this point the car lurched forward with the tires spinning. She immediately put her foot on the brake, but to no avail. The van stopped when it hit the car in front of her pushing that car into the car in front of it. This was 5 minutes from our home. When I arrived the local police were finishing up their report. The van was still drivable. I drove the van home - thankfully event free.
