Sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise when I unlock any of the doors as well as when I open the back hatch. Since I don't open the doors when the car is moving I don't know whether or not it would make the noise when moving but it does when I am not moving.

The automatic sliding door no longer locks. It has been traced back at an small hydraulic pin that pushes the lock open and closed. To fix this part it has been quoted between $800-$1000. Due to the fact, they have to remove the door completely, then break the panel and the trim from the inside to reach the parts. Now we are being charged to replace the panel and the existing trim. Have looked into this and others are experiencing same / similar issues. All other doors lock, but when locked the sliding door can be opened by anyone.

The drivers side sliding passenger door suddenly is stuck in the lock shut position. There is no way of opening the door manually or with the key fab remote. The other sliding door also produces a loud sound when it locks and unlocks. I took it in the get fixed, the shop says that the actuator in both doors was broken and needed to be replaced. Online I also found a lot of other Town and country owners having this same issue. This could be a big safety hazard if ever someone needed to be evacuated from the vehicle and the door is stuck shut.

The driver side sliding door stopped working from one day to the next. I used the door on Sunday, October 20th and went to use it the following morning and it would not open via the keyfob or the overhead button. When I tried to manually open the door, it would not budge. The lock mechanism will not move. I did some research online and it looks like an ongoing issue with these vehicles but it presents a safety issue if the vehicle gets in an accident, it could impede passengers exiting the vehicle and sustaining further injury.

The passenger side sliding door emits a loud buzzing sound when the vehicle is unlocked. The volume is loud enough that it causes audio discomfort. Research indicated that there have been many complaints about this issue in the 2016 Dodge and Chrysler minivans, and several individuals had reported it to this site so we are following that suggestion.

Both rear power door locks failed. The passenger side power lock failed to function about 6 months ago, but could be operated manually, and the door could be opened and closed safely. On the morning of August 5, 2019 we attempted to open the driver side rear door to load items for departure. The lock was jammed in lock position, and could not be opened manually. The door was jammed closed and totally inoperable. The door had been fully functional the previous day. The discovery was made while the vehicle was parked in our garage. We had to wait 3 days for a service appointment at our local dealer. They had the vehicle for 2-1/2 days before completing repairs. Both lock actuators were replaced. The inability to open the side door created a hazardous situation.

Sliding door on drivers side failed to open with keyless entry or manually opening. This is a huge safety concern. We were able to eventually open the door, but now the door actuator buzzes loudly when locking/unlocking. Door will intermittently not open with keyless entry or manually.

I was driving to the post office and as I was getting close, the vehicle suddenly veered to the right, going up on the curb and sidewalk, barely missed a telephone pole, crashing into a utility box. Vehicle was totaled, no injuries received, air bags did not deploy. Travel speed was at posted limit of 35. When my son got there he said that it looked as if the 2 tires on the right had malfunctioned and gone flat, almost as if they had run over sharp objects, causing the van to suddenly veer right

Slider door on the driver side stuck in locked position. Will not open. Lock has spongy feel to it and will not unlock manually or electronically. This poses a safety issue due to the passenger on not able to quickly exit the vehicle in case of emergency. Also, the slider door on the passenger side seems to malfunction frequently-opening and closing multiple times with nothing stuck in the track and nothing blocking the sensor. It is likely a matter of time before the door becomes completely non-functional like the driver side slider door.

This vehicle will not allow for the rear doors to open manually when the electronic system fails. This poses a significant safety risk for entry and exit of the vehicle when the "actuator/motor, electric door lock" fails on the sliding doors. On 6/15/2019 the second incident occurred with the vehicle.

Sliding door on the passenger side of the vehicle will not open. Tried manually from interior and exterior, buttons on inside and key fob. Clicking can be heard when using the key fob, but mechanism will not unlock. Could not get my dog out of his crate without going to driver's side of the van, folding down seat into the floor and having someone help me pull the crate around so it's door could be opened. Van was parked.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town and country. While the contact was using the keyless entry, the vehicle's doors and liftgate failed to open and close. Additionally, the manual button had to be pushed four times before the doors opened. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to normandin Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat (900 capitol expressway auto mall, san jose, ca 95136, (408) 266-9500) where it was diagnosed that the door handles needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 586519, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 20,000.

Driver's side, power sliding door, will not open. This is a safety hazard. In an emergency or accident, only the other sliding door will open or if blocked, all will be trapped and unable to exit the vehicle. Vehicle is only 2.5 years old and 49K miles. Dealership and other repair business say no warranty coverage. Price to fix is either $1,371 or $1,495. I'm seeing lots of other owners complaining about this safety issue and being charged this gross amount of money. Lives are at risk. Please make this a recall issue as passengers risk becoming trapped and unable to exit.
