Town & Country Limit 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,540 miles

At this low mileage you would not expect this to happen. The car we never used for towing. Called Chrysler they would not help any with the cost. They wanted $7,762.07 to do the repair after charging a $165.00 transmission diagnostic plus a charger of $150.00 for the check engine light diagnostics.

We took it to a local transmission shop that repaired it for $4,500 and did not charge for the diagnosis.

They said there was no recall for this vehicle. When I put in the VIN I found a recall. This will be the last Chrysler protect we will own.

Town & Country

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,000 miles

We had purchased the car at 56,000 miles and had only driven about 20,000 miles when the car started jerking and quickly became undrivable. We took it in and the transmission had gone out. The original warranty would have not paid for it because it was like 1000 miles over the warranty. Thankfully we had a certified used warranty and it paid for the transmission, otherwise we would have had to pay 7000.00 or had a worthless car.

  • Automatic transmission

Sent in my final payment (60 months) January 25th and the transmission began having issues February 18th. Mopar ended up opening a goodwill case since I have been the only owner, but only covered half the cost. Dealership could have replaced the entire transmission, but instead took 2 months to diagnose and repair 4 separate issues. Never supplied a loaner or any type of assistance while they had it.

There is no reason a 3 year old car should blow a transmission at 73,000 miles.

Don't buy Chrysler town and country mini vans! We had to replace the transmission in our 2011 with $162000 miles so we sold it and upgraded to a 2016 with 63000 miles. At 65000 miles we had to replace the transmission on it and it was 5000 out of warranty so Chrysler would not stand behind it. It cost us $4700 out of pocket.
