In NC you have to have your car inspected in order to pay your yearly taxes on your vehicle and to get an updated registration. In order to get it inspected your check engine light has to be off or it will automatically fail. I can't get my car inspected because my light won't go off, so I can't pay my yearly vehicle tax which accrues interest and a late fee of 25 added to my taxes. So I have to purchase 10 day tags at 15 dollars each time. I had my PCM changed costing my me 760.00 and now it will cost me another 700 + to get my manifold intake changed out and if that doesn't work, I don't know what the cost will be. WILL NOT BUY A DODGE AGAIN. This is only pertaining to trying to get the check engine light off, not including the other lights that are on and not finding anything wrong. This car is a bunch of mess, like the bunch of sensors that keep going off and not finding one solution.

Avenger ES 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 89,000 miles

check engine light has been on since 89,000 miles, now have 126,000 on vehicle.!

Trouble code I was told was cam sensor switch, car dealership mechanic replaced it, lasted three days!!

Skidding vehicle light suddenly comes on at weird times?! makes vehicle lurch jump sometimes. Have to pull over stop turn vehicle off and sit for five minutes before restarting otherwise, when I turn the key on, starter stays running and the car does not start!!? After preforming this task, vehicle runs normal? Checked to see if it was on recall list when it only had 89,000 miles on it. Dodge/Chrysler people wherever their located in China or India? or who knows? somebodies basement? Told me, sorry your vin number doesn't show on our recall list. Go F. yourself. Couldn't afford to replace the vehicle nor afford taking it to a dealership to have diagnostic check run for $175.00 either. Why should I have to pay for Dodges lousy designing engineering major screw ups??!! Why should anyone have to pay for their ruthless ignorant arrogance and how they beat people up over a few dollars?? It is a manly nice looking vehicle will give them that, but, I will never ever buy another Dodge Chrysler anything

once I have this one paid off!! Toyota or Honda probably since they are AMERICAN made. Honda in Marys ville Ohio, Toyota of course in two or three states now.

PS if anyone else has had this issue, please let me know if you actually found a way to fix it, without wrecking the car, or setting it on fire.
