problem #2

Avenger

  • Automatic transmission
  • 115,000 miles

SINCE THE DAY THAT I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH STALLING, AND LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. FOR YEARS i THOUGHT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION MOUNT AND ENGINE MOUNT, AND NEITHER CORRECTED.

ALSO, THE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, AND I HAD AN ELECTRICIAN BY-PASS THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SO I HAD RUNNING LIGHTS.

NOW, I HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON IN THE VEHICLE AND THE GAS LIGHT AND GAUGE ARE SHOWING AS EMPTY. THE MECHANIC IS TELLING ME THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP, PER THE SCANNER, BUT I AM HESITANT TO PUT ANY ADDITIONAL FUNDS INTO THIS VEHICLE.

Avenger 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 141,000 miles

Lightning bolt comes on while driving and accelarator loses power. Happened once on the interstate and once while I was attempting to pass a slower vehicle, WTF moment when my car did not have enough acceleration to pass. Family member almost hit an oncoming vehicle,

Looking online and see this appears to be a common problem with Dodge Avengers. 😕
