I keep having the vehicle fixed and then they keep telling me nothing else needs to be fixed with it. It keeps pullingn when I come to a stop and then decelerates while I'm driving and I have to pull over on the highway or pull off the highway and start the car again. No lights come on there's oil in the car I just had an oil change I just had to brake pads fixed even though the brakes keep squeaking the rotors are new xcetera. This isn't the first time it has decelerated I had to have a part replaced a couple years ago because it was doing the same thing. Trying to figure out if there's any recalls on the car in order to get those recalls fixed. It did the same thing last year and when I took it in they fixed another part. It's never the same part that the mechanics fix and say is causing the problem.

The vehicle on three separate turn arounds did the same thing after 3 plus hrs of driving stopping shifting into reverse then drive. Near the end of the rural/local 4 straight hrs transmission appeared to not shift out of first gear. Each time the vehicle came to a complete stop while applying brakes. The car was then shifted into R(reverse) and the brake pedal was released and gas pedal applied approximately. After reaching the reversed turning destination the brake was reapplied and car came to a stop. Car was shifted into D (drive) from R (reverse) and all three times the car accelerated to 30 -34 mph rpms staying at 3 and the automatic transmission did not did not go into normal 2nd year mode. All three times the car was completely stopped. The gearshift put into P(park for 5sec.) then gear shift put into D. the car ran fin again until time to turn around. On the 3rd attempt the check engine light came on and immediately the car was driven home under 40 mph 4rpms. After the vehicle has set for 2 plus hrs the fluids were checked and none appears low the car also drove as normal as it had at the beginning of the last trip. The car was only driven for 5-10minutesvand all gears seam to work fine fluids are normal and the check engine symbol is still lit.

While driving my vehicle at 60mph, my gas pedal simply stopped working. My rpms on the dashboard went to 0(zero) and my vehicle began slowing down. I became stranded in the middle of the freeway with cars honking at me. I could not do anything but turning off the vehicle, then turning it back on. When it started up, I began driving for about 1/2 of a mile and it stalled again. I was able to pull off to the shoulder, but the steering became difficult to turn, and so did the brake. It's as if I was forcing the car to come to a complete stop, and the brake was fighting against my foot. I sat for 10 minutes before starting the vehicle again and quickly exiting the freeway. I took it to a private mechanic, and he pulled a code stating it was a faulty throttle body. After inspecting it, he recommended a complete cleaning of it. So he cleaned it. I went to drive home and the car stalled again, this time as I was coming to a stop sign. With cars behind me honking, it became embarrassing, so I exited the vehicle and pushed it off the side of the road as my passenger steered the vehicle. They noticed the same difficulty in steering and the hard brake. The problem has not been resolved, due to my inability to do so due to financial reasons. Upon doing some research there are many other 2010 Dodge Avenger owners facing this same safety hazard. As well as this issue, my car will randomly 'honk' on its own. Just the other day, while sitting at a red light, it started to aggressively honk. The vehicle in front of me started driving(though it was a red) and almost ran into oncoming traffic. A nearby officer saw this and pulled me over. I was given a verbal warning and told to get the issue resolved immediately. The officer was being kind, and told me, he could have had the vehicle towed away for not functioning properly. The vehicle only have 129,000 miles.

For months now my car keeps stalling I have 62,000 miles. I will be at a stop light and car will stall. It will start back up and then stall again. I took it to the dealer and they could not replicate and said nothing appeared in the codes as there were no issues. I contacted Chrysler and they claim they didn't know what the issue was and that they rely on the dealers to diagnose. Today my car stalled again I was able to get home and I shut it off and started back up again while recording it on my phone when the engine stalled my electronic throttle warning light and check engine light both came on and the off. This is very dangerous and would like you to please document and let Chrysler know this is a safety issue. I've read many instances online of this happening and consumers replacing the etc just to have it act up again. The cost to repair is somewhere around 400-800 dollars. At 62K I feel that they put a vehicle on the market and now should have enough complaints from the consumer to investigate and issue a recall.

The electronic throttle control light comes on and off randomly. Sometimes when driving it will experience loss of power and or rough idling. Sometimes it will seem as if the gas pedal is being pressed on its own. Sometimes it will lose power and only do 10 mph even with the gas pedal floored. Sometimes the car dies completely. Usually turning the car off and back on again will somewhat fix it where it will at least drive.

I have a 2010 Dodge Avenger which I purchase in April of 2015. And in 2015 I had to put it in the shop to replace the throttle control body because I was losing acceleration while driving. Here we are 1.5 years later and I am having the same problem. According to the mechanic that was working on my car, after 2 unsuccessful attempts to fix it, they contact a Dodge dealership, which stated this was a known problem with the vehicle. After driving my car for more than 10 minutes, the electronic throttle indicator light begins to flash. I am unable to accelerate past 20 mph. Or if I am stopped, the car jerks forward while trying to accelerate. This is very unsafe especially when driving on the highway.

The car would sputter like it was having a hard time accelerating then the electronic throttle body light came on. I was on my way to a dealership to find out what was wrong. I was merging onto a busy interstate when my car went from 60-65 mph down to 30-35 mph while I was still trying to speed up to merge onto the interstate. This incident came very close to resulting in me getting rear ended. The next day I went and had the whole throttle body replaced (January 2013). In October 2013 I started to have the same problems, the throttle body light would come on and the car would sputter like it couldn't pick up speed or it would rev up while I was slowing down. I had the throttle body cleaned and it ran okay for a week or two. Then September 2013 I took it to a dealership yet again, they said it was old codes causing the problem. They cleared the codes and it was fine for a little bit. Then around April 2014 it would start up again. It would run fine and on occasion the throttle control light would come on. But in August 2014 it started acting up again. The rpms would rev up from 1 to 3 while in park. I would be sitting at a red light with my foot on the brake and the car would rev up for no reason. It has completely stalled out on me two days in a row. Luckily it was when I was in parking lots. This is a newer car and there is no logical reason to have this much ongoing trouble with the throttle body except some kind of defect. It is also very dangerous. Because it will act up a day or two then be fine for a few days making it difficult for a shop to actually see what the car is doing. The light comes on and it acts up and sometimes when you turn the car off and back on it'll be fine. But the fact that it will stall out or decelerate with no notice is very dangerous especially since I drive on a busy interstate at least twice a day.

Car was having trouble starting but would always go, then one day needed to have it jumped since battery died. Assumed it needed a new battery. Next day driving on the highway when car started accelerating sluggishly was struggling to reach 60mph and rpms were about 7-800 higher than when normally at that speed. Called local Dodge dealership to schedule repair and the service tech stated that they had numerous problems with throttle body. After checking this websites complaints and recalls section I see dozens of similar complaints where the throttle body was the core issue. There should be a recall since failures are nearly identical with this model.

The electronic throttle light came on and the car would not go over 15 miles per hour. I pulled over, turned the car off and it restarted. The light eventually went off and kept coming back on with the car not being able to accelerate over 15 mph. I took it to the Dodge dealership today and they stated that the throttle body needs to be replaced. The cost of the part alone is $257 which is on back order. There are over 1200 on back order at this time. They also checked to see if this part would be included in the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty which it is not. This is part of the powertrain and should be included in the warranty through Dodge. There should also be a recall on this part. Evidently there are more people with the same problem since there are 1200 on back order.
