Avenger SXT 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,700 miles

Doors automatically lock when you reach a certain speed. Normally the doors will unlock when car is placed in park. No longer do my locks do this. Back seats do not have unlock buttons therefore if in an emergency situation children or back passengers can become locked in. This started with the back not unlocking now the front is not unlocking but isn't such a problem because you have a button in the front.. My daughter normally opens the door on her own but can no longer do this because she is locked in. Maybe a small inconvenience but this should not happen. If we needed to escape the car quickly she would not be able to get out until I unlock with key button or on my door. Another issue with this Avenger which was purchased brand new. I do believe this is a safety issue.

Update from Aug 18, 2013: Updating because of error in typing complaint,,,, the backseats do have door unlocks so yes these could be unlocked this way. BUT should unlock themselves when the vehicle is placed in park.
