Avenger

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

As soon as I purchased my Avenger, I noticed the brakes squeaking! It only had 200 miles on it when I drove it off the lot! I complained to the dealership several times while it was still under warranty and the dealership stated that it was normal for that model car to do that until the brakes heated up. After my warranty ran out I took it back to the dealership and complained again! At that point the technician said that the brakes were glazed and I needed new rotors and brakes all the way around! I was very upset to say the least and I will never refer anyone to that dealership to purchase a vehicle nor to have a vehicle worked on! I had the brakes and rotors changed (Brand New Rotors) myself and within a couple of days they too are squeaking and scrubbing! My break light comes on at random and lord forbid if I need to use them for stopping fast! I've had to slam on my brakes a few times over the years and it always scares me because I slide instead of stopping! What can I do? It looks as if there should be a recall on the brakes as well by reading all these complaints!!!

Avenger SE 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,000 miles

In or around August of 2014 my brakes began a very loud squealing after car had sat for a period of time. Dealer mechanic said there is nothing wrong with brakes and it is just the nature of the car. I was also told that a better set of brake pads may help...but at my cost. I also called Chrysler customer care and they assisted with making appointment with dealer mechanic but also agreed with dealer mechanic that it was the nature of the car.

It is now July 2015 and I still have brake squealing. This car was purchased brand new and out right from the dealer. I am upset that I purchased this car and that I have to deal with this noise everyday. I would very much like this issue corrected.

Avenger RT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,602 miles

Here's my point that pisses me off, apparently when I purchased this car they were aware of this issue with the breaks and were not going to make anymore after 2014. I have been back 3 times and the only thing they can offer me at this point is to compensate me with something and enjoy my squeaky brakes or I can put on a different brand of pads BUT this will take away my warranty.

So at this point I am SCREWED by Dodge and I am looking for attorney to help with this issue. I will not buy another Dodge in my LIFE.

Avenger

  • Automatic transmission

On my brand new car with 75 miles after being told everything is covered besides brakes! I start to have brake problems, it squeals, it grinds as if I constantly need brakes and rotors, not sure if it's one side or both. I believe that the car dealership is getting irritated with me but what am I to do? The dealer changed the right side rotor and told me that one side always wears down more so than the others? Why would or should I have to have a rotor changed? I just wish my brand new car wasn't always grinding :( and Find it before I have 12,000 miles Please!!!!!!!

Avenger

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,000 miles

I really don't understand it. I purchased the car on 03/27/14, bought it off the lot, and less than a month later, I heard the brakes squeaking whenever I applied them. It didn't matter if I was going fast or at a slower speed, they would "squeal" to a stop. When I took it to the dealership, I was told, that it's the type of pads and materials used that would cause the brakes to squeak. But that they were not worn or anything. But it is now August and they still squeak. It angers me that I drive a 2014 vehicle and it sounds raggedy.
