problem #2

Avenger SE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,800 miles

I washed my car at the car wash and when I started it the engine was knocking. I took it to the dealer and he told me the engine needed to be replaced. I had the oil changed like it should be and everything, had less the 15,000 miles on it.

Avenger 3.6L Vvt

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

2014 Dodge Avenger SE 3.6 VVT with 10,000 miles developed a knocking noise in the engine. Taken to Graven Chrysler Dodge in Lebanon Missouri on July 17th 2014. Service manager indicated they would check the problem and give me a return call. A week later still had not heard from them and called to ascertain what was going on. Service manager indicated they did not know and would have to pull the engine and tear it down. A week later service manger indicated they cannot find a problem and was calling in the Chrysler/Dodge STAR team.

A week later I am told ALL engine parts are within specifications of the manufacture. I asked that since the motor was torn down, no problems found were they going to replace the motor with a new one. Service manager indicated he would contact the area representative for dodge. 3 days later I was told the area representative said no, get new parts and put it back together. A day later I learned Dodge puts out a nationwide bulletin regarding engine knocking noise in the 3.6 VVT engine. The dealership and area representative are still holding to putting this engine back together with new parts. Now September 4th 2014, my vehicle is still not repaired as they say they cannot get parts soon enough. I asked (if) they were to replace the motor with a new one how long will it take. The service manger said they could have motor within 3 days.

I contacted Dodge to file a complaint. I was told by (Emily) my complaint was documented and I asked for their legal department. I was told they cannot give that information out. My entire family and I have purchased Dodge/Chrysler vehicles for more than 40 years. With this type of customer service, we will no longer buy another Dodge or Chrysler vehicle again. I have continued to make car and insurance payments on this vehicle as it sits on their lot. I can say they have provided a rental vehicle during this time. And for Dodge/Chrysler representatives that search for complaints on the internet about their product, you can refer to my case..Case# 25452599 and EN139459.
