Jul 202020

Caliber SE 1.8L

  • Manual transmission
  • 39,768 miles

When I press the gas pedal, a loud noise comes from the engine and the car won't accelerate.

This is dangerous for the passengers' lives, especially when I try to overtake another car.

Update from Aug 20, 2022: The OBDII does not show any error code as well as the ECM of my car.

No mechanic can find any solution regarding my problem because of no error codes.

This problem becomes worse after 2 hours driving.

This malfunction looks like a ghost!

Any help?

Caliber E7DV V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 163,342 miles

First, the service engine soon light would begin flashing when I hit the accelerator pedal and I lost power. Could not go over 35 mph. Then by the time I made it off the highway, the light stayed flashing all the time. And I have not been able to regain proper power at all. It uses a ton of gas and when sitting in park, if I push the brake pedal, there is a clicking noise under where the shifter is located. With losing power on the highway, other traffic and myself were in danger.

I looked online and many many ppl have the same issue with no luck of fixing the problem even after hundreds of dollars at the mechanic. Also, many have filed complaints and have gotten no where and very negative responses when calling Dodge. I don't have hundreds of dollars for repairs as I am on disability. Hope this has became a recall issue and I don't have a huge out of pocket expense. I travel to drs a lot.

Caliber EXT 2.3L

  • CVT transmission
  • 65,000 miles

Engine is whining when I accelerate. Several mechanics have said to take it to the dealer. They said it could be a number of problems. I'm always afraid a dealer is going to overcharge and over diagnose.
