Caliber SXT 2.0L

After about 115K miles, I could gran and shake most of the parts of the rear suspension, and hear clunking. Each small shift of the rear of the car made a groaning stretching sound. Speed bumps were terrible, cornering at low speeds was terrible, in fact, every bump reminded me that I still own this car, which is terrible.

The dealer wanted $$$ to replace the rear struts, lateral links, sway bar links, sway bar bushings, toe links, and upper control arm. The price of the parts alone was nearly $700.00. Not only should they not have all failed in unison, but working on this pos yourself is terrible. I hope you have a breaker bar and a week's worth of vacation stored up. It's time to break some rust!

Struts were aftermarket, from Detroit Axle. The lateral link, toe link, upper control arm were from Doorman, and the end links from NAPA. You don't realize how loose every bushing or joint is until you can't even wiggle the new one, while the old one is jarring around like a dolphin in the Sahara, at the slightest breeze.
