The contact received a recall letter a couple of months ago concerning air conditioner (A/C) ducts that may drip moisture into the radio and may lead to a fire/ short circuit which may cause a fire. The contact stated when she bought the car she had a different radio installed in the car other than the one that was in the car because she wanted a cd. The salesman told her to go somewhere else and purchase another radio. She wanted to purchase another radio from Chrysler, but the salesperson advised her it would be cheaper to go elsewhere to purchase the radio. She did what the salesperson told her to do. The service dealer and Chrysler have told the contact that they will not look at it or fix the recall because there was no Chrysler radio in the car. She believed the problem was with the A/C in the car not the radio. She took the car to dealer prior to receiving the recall they told her then there was a recall about the A/C, but they could not fix it because she had an after market radio in the car. On 8-15-05 she took the car to dealer again and brought recall letter. This was when they told her again they would not fix the recall because she had the after market radio in the car.

Received recall 04V531000 at the beginning of the year, and could not get the recall work done on 2001 Dodge Caravan. Took it to a dealer to have it repaired, and they said they could not do it because they did not have the part. The consumer called Chrysler and they had no service in spanish. The door actuator was replaced.

I was changing the station on the radio when the component started flashing. It seemed like it was scanning through the stations. Then the radio just went blank.
