It was about 8:00 a.M. it was not hot about 60 degrees, me and my husband were standing by the car and when he got in and shut the door without starting the vehicle first, the rear window shattered for no apparent reason we both stood there watching in aww as it continued to fall in pieces at first it exploded outwards then just fell in side the rear seats if the children were in the car with us glass would have fallen all over them nothing hit the window and it did not have any existing cracks at all it just shattered first in one small area then around the edges as it being eaten or something then just all over I don't have a video camera but I took still patters as it was happening. Then I looked on line to see if any others had anything like this happen and I found we are not the only ones. This glass is a very serious safety issue there was very small sharp shards of glass all over I got some in my hand and fingers. The dealer refused to believe me and denied there was a problem. But I stood there and watched this happen. This glass needs to be recalled.
