problem #1

Charger RT 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

The panels are warping around the shifting console on both sides, I have contacted the dealer on multiple occasions to have them replaced for free but they refused and said it was cosmetic not safety. I also contacted NHTSA and they replied that it was not a safety issue. The panels are pulled away from the shifting console and starting to warp where it connects in the back. The cost to have the panels replaced are over $700 per side. It will become a safety issue when I can't even get to my gas peddle because the console is warped outward toward the drivers leg.

Seeing as I paid over $35K for this car the least they can do is make it safe and functional and not have defects that they know are there. I have seen multiple complaints from thousands of people having this issue so it is clearly and factory defect. I have not replaced mine because I have seen where they replace them with the same thing and over time they are warped again. I am not paying that kind of money very 2 years for a defect the manufacturer is aware of.

It is ridiculous that we pay such a high price for these cars for them to only fall apart within the first few years. I want this fixed! I want my car to look as good as it did the day I got it. The inside is immaculate and I use tinted windows and also a sun guard to keep the heat down in my car. This should not be happening! Please hold Dodge accountable for their defective issue.
