Dakota SLT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6 miles

The transmission drifts in and out of overdrive for no apparent reason. I can put it in O/D by using the O/D button to turn it off and then turning it back on. That solution, however, only last a short time before I again see the tach creeping up 500 or 600 RPM.

This week the dealer (on warranty) replaced the computer but nothing changed. My next move will be to replace the throttle position sensor as I reason that the computer is taking it's directions from that sensor and that sensor may be giving it bad information.

Anyone got a better idea?
