The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the software codes needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The dealer then advised the contact to loosen the fuel cap and that the vehicle was safe to drive as long as the check engine warning light was not flashing. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, the engine stalled. The vehicle restarted after several attempts and the electronic throttle control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the software code needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,103.
