Occasionally under normal or slightly heavy breaking the anti-lock break system will kick in with a noticeably long pause between breaking and rolling. This causes our Durango to take longer to stop than normal. I have had a couple instances where I stopped too close to the car in front of me or too close to the cross walk because the vehicle's breaking system failed. My wife rear ended another vehicle when the Durango would not stop soon enough because of this problem.

When the consumer attempted to apply the brakes, the anti-lock-brake system engaged, which almost resulted in a rear-end collision. The dealer replaced the anti-lock brake system unit, however the problem recurred.
