The key fob stopped working 4 years ago....? New batteries did not fix it so I just used key manually. Two weeks ago after battery had to be charged by triple a I took it to local garage to have battery checked and it was fine. Then the flashing lights started every time I open the door. Called two closest Dodge dealerships and was told I would have to purchase a new key fob......Only way to stop the problem. I agreed and asked them to order. Then I was told there were 1,122 on back order. They had no idea when they could get them. Friday I called Dodge corporate and was assigned a case # and was told to order and have the dealer call them and the part would be expedited to them in as week. This morning I got a call telling me they cannot do what I was told. Now I am told they will update me weekly. These flashing lights are a distraction to other drivers and when I have to make a left turn off the highway I have experienced screeching tires. The flashing lights seem to be a focus that over rides the turning signal! I am very frustrated with the engineering of the keys and alarm system and with Chrysler/ Dodge for unacceptable customer service.
