Durango Limted 5

  • Automatic transmission
  • 190,000 miles

I drove my truck on Friday evening and heard a clicking noise but I didn't know where it was coming from. I parked the truck in my driveway. I did not go anywhere on Saturday and Sunday. Monday morning when we opened the truck hatch you could see the inside had burned. The dash was melted along with the rest of the interior. There was a horrible smell I think from the materials burned. There never was any smoke or alarms that I or my neighbors saw or heard. All the windows are smoked but nothing happened to the exterior of the truck. This truck has traveled 190,000 miles. I am the original owner and it has had regular normal maintenance. It ran fine and still started after this incident. I called Chrysler and made a report but after reading the other comments, I am not holding much hope. I am glad the kids and I were not in the truck when this happened.

Durango LTS V8 HEMI

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33,000 miles

Dire started in ip computer in dashboard while car was off. Chrysler sent out an investigator, which determined the fire was a default in the car. However, nobody is willing to help. They keep giving us the run around. Our car sits on the lot at Dodge for 3 weeks now, with no hope of it being fixed anytime soon. Dodge just wants us to buy a new car !!!!!!!!!!!!!
