Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

bought this new, ac went out i was told it was the front hose going to the rear, found out it was the rear evap, which has a history of failing. dodge would not do anything about this until i took it to the dealership, well it will cost about $940.00 to fix at car x,

not sure at this point if it is worth fixing guess i also be looking at leaving dodge after having new ones since 1999.

bought as used last month. air not as cold as 12 yr old other car but ok i guess. then no ac at all. cost $1076.55 !!! to replace rear evaporator, extension tubes, seal kits, ect. that's just to replace a part of the ac?? not a whole new one??

luckily bought extended warranty from dealer so only $100 deductible. but what part of ac will go next? and seeing how many problems dodge knows about with this, the dodge dealer who sold this used probably knew it was going bad when they sold it.

Grand Caravan ES V6

I drive about 100 miles to and from work a day. I now have 100,000 miles on it and Chrysler will not fix it because it's over the 70,000 miles warranty. So, the know they have a crappy product, and expect your car to only last to 70,000 miles? I never recieved a letter for them recalling the sensor on the airbag either. I wold not have know that if I didn't take my car in to be checked to see if I needed the A/C charged or why it wouldn't work.

I am very disappointed in the company for not standing by their product. This is my 4th or 5th minivan. All Dodge no less....I will never buy from Chrysler again. I am buying a new car next year since I have so many miles on it. Guess I buy a foreign car now. Forget the vans.....They suck! Oh, yes...forgot to mention what has broken in the last few months....Right side door, water pump, tyrods, brakes, rotars replaced, airbag senosr which I paid for WAAAAAYYY before I found out there was a recall, an oxygen sensor, power steering pump......Can you say LEMON!!!! Yep, 2006 vans suck!! Don't buy one!!! Just say no!!!

The rear AC evaporator is leaking. Complained to Chrysler about it, and they did reimburse me. This van has had many issues.

Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

Bought the vehicle used in the winter. Luckily, a few days after we purchased it we had a warm day and ran the A/C. Warm air! Apparently a leak had developed in the rear evaporator that drained all of the coolant from the system. Neither the front or rear AC unit worked. Luckily, the dealer was real good about it, and replaced the evaporator and recharged the cooling system for no charge.

Poor design, use of steel support bracket over aluminum caused unprotected aluminum to corrode and develop pin holes.
