My wife and I were driving down the road, when the van started to lock and unlock the doors. The next time this happened my three kids were in the van and it was 85 degrees out and the only way we got in was to talk my son into trying to unbuckle his car seat.we have also had a problem with the ac not working witch is great when it is soo humid out. The doors still continue to lock and unlock by themselves at least once a week.

2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. Passenger side front and rear doors power unlock problem. I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan stx. It has power windows and locks and power sliding doors. 3.8L engine. The passenger front door lock, right passenger sliding door lock will lock when the button is pressed, but will not unlock when the button is pressed. This happens no matter which door unlock button you press (driver, passenger or key fob). I have traced the wiring no power when 'unlock' is pressed, but there is power when the 'lock' button is pressed. Also, I tested the passenger sliding door, again same result. I took off the passenger front door panel and unplugged the door lock connector at the solenoid and tested it. Again, no power when 'unlock' is pressed on any of the wires. The black wire on the connector is getting good ground. I traced the wires from the lock solenoid connector under the seats and to the drivers kick panel where they go through a grommet and into the fuse box under the hood. I probed the wires again by the kick panel and got no power when 'unlock' was pressed. I hear a relay clicking in the fuse box when I press 'unlock', but I can't find it. It is coming from within the fuse box under all the fuses and relays. Those relays are located in the fuse boxes inner part, and probably low quality, so they are gone in just few years of usage. Unfortunately, relays can't be replaced by owners due to location and connections.

While driving or parked & turned off with no one near the van, the engine starts, the horn starts blaring, the wipers turn on full blast, the wiper fluid shoots out, and lights wont work! at first, we could disconnect battery or relay & it would stop. The last time, we had to disconnect alternator. This is a major safety issue!

While the rear hatch of our 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan was closing, our daughter walked behind the van. The rear hatch came down on her and did not stop. I hit the remote for it to go back up and it bounced on our daughter and began coming down again on her. I tried to lift it up while pulling my daughter out and it continued to come down. This van has been taken to rick hendrick Dodge on numerous occasions for the power side doors failing. The side doors bounce open upon closing and we find one or both doors open when returning to the van from a store, etc. This has been reported as a safety issue to the dealership and to Chrysler. We get the same response each time, which is they are unable to duplicate the problem. We have many witnesses who have seen this happen, including our salesperson. Unfortunately, instead of rectifying the problem, our daughter now has a serious, complicated neck injury. She is being followed by a pediatric neurosurgeon at present. We have no idea what her prognosis will be. To date, she has had X-rays and an mri and remains in a cervical collar. She will have more X-rays in 2 weeks. She is a competitive gymnast who now has no activity. The power doors to these vans are extremely dangerous and people need to be aware of this.

The side sliding doors do not function properly when pushing button to make them close. They will close then reopen continuously. The doors have tried to close when my son was getting in the car. Thank goodness I was standing there to grab the door, because it would of caught his leg and hurt him. Something needs to be done with these doors, because I am not the only one that has had these problems.

Automatic sliding doors fail to stay open when parked on a hill and have closed while child was getting in. Automatic sliding doors fail to close when sitting on a hill. This always happens when sitting on a hill and sometimes when sitting on flat surface. There is a service bulletin for these problems but no recall. This could be very dangerous for a child getting in or out of the vehicle thinking the door has latched open when it has not.

Multiple problems with 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SE, van was special ordered at advantage Chrysler Jeep and Dodge, des plaines il from factory with mygig ves, we took delivery on Feb 2008, our sales guy quit before we even got the van. Sad. _____________ first problem was within first 6 mos. Loud whistle noise coming from windshield on warm and hot days at 60+ mph, dealer resealed but problem still same. __________________ brakes had to be redone after 14,000. This is a common problem, judging by all of the complaints, I was even more pissed off after getting a $500 bill and a dopey explanation from the shop manager at advantage Chrysler Jeep and Dodge. We took it in for a break inspection, they did all the work without checking with me first. _________________ the next thing to stop working was the passenger side sliding door auto lock. It no longer responds to electric or remote switch. We have to lock and unlock manually. They suspected a harness but did not have one in stock, 2 months for delivery of part, I had no time to go back. _________________ just recently Oct 2009 during a rain storm, the wipers stopped to function in any position, the wipers were turned on while the car was running, had to pull over shut off/on, then they worked fine. __________________ spouse also reported that radio stopped working, no audio or video temporarily, it also started to work after turning off then on of the key. _________________ we are '!@#$% at Chrysler / Dodge for putting out a car like that. We buy only american built cars to support our economy, and we get '!@#$% with countless repair bills. Get tour stuff together Chrysler / Dodge!!!!!!!

Dodge Caravan all the door lock stop working and is a vehicle substandard manufacturing issue. A similar problem with all other vans is already reported on the web and poor manufacturing is the result of this issue. It is not a wear and tear and is an issue which Dodge is well aware of it and has done nothing so far.
