As of June 28, 2017, this is the 3rd fuel pump in this vehicle. No telling if it was replaced before I bought it. It would die on the toll road or bypass and then it would restart. October 2016, took it to a mechanic in town after it stalled on me at 2:30 in the morning. Fuel pump cost me $600.00 to replace. Problem occurred again in spring 2017. Took it to another place, they charged me $120.00 and had it for 2 days and could not duplicate the problem. Vehicle quit on me going through an intersection and wouldn't restart. Had it towed to the same place that installed the pump in October. New pump installed for free.

The mechanic is of the mindset that it's the TIPM (AKA Totally Integrated Power Module), which controls many electrical aspects of the vehicle, including turning off and on the fuel pump. Evidently this is a problem with many Chrysler/Dodge vehicles. The TIPM is a dealer-installed device which has to be reset or reflashed.

I doubt that the mechanic will want to install another $600.00 pump for free next time I take it to him.
