Vehicle accelerated rapidly, from around 20 mph to excess of 70mph. When brakes were applied no effect was noticed. Pumped brakes and became to stiff to push down, speed continued to climb. Rpms at max. Tried to put in neutral but panicked and put in reverse. Causing a slamming halt and loud noise. Engine became so loud I thought it might explode. Tried to put in neutral and symptoms continued. Shut off engine, restarted, symptoms continued. Less than 1000 ft from home a s was hoping to to get in driveway, put and drive and it peeled out, engine still revving, brakes still stiff. Shut off and wait several minutes. Restart and symptoms gone. Happened to wife about one week later on ramp merging to interstate. Having been forewarned, she was able to slip into neutral, kept foot on brake, no pumping and coast to stop. After leaving off for several minutes was able to restart and make it home without issue. Took it to nearby mechanic, which looked at the throttle body, but they did believe it to have resolved issue, did not charge me and recommended to go to dealer. Did not drive most of the year due to covid19. Eventually took to dealership for recall and to specifically diagnose acc. issue so we could meet some family out of state. They fixed a few non related issues and recall. Did not fix acc. issue, or even put on receipt that they looked at it. When asked to print me new receipt so I could have proof that it was at least brought in for that issue, clerk told me it would mess up receipt in their filing so instead wrote it in with initials. Called dodge customer support because tr. fluid leaking after dealer worked on it. He told me that it was impossible to leak since it was a closed system and asked if he could help me with anything else. I mentioned the acceleration, he cut me off and started to talk about tr. fluid again and transfer call to a local shop. Asked again if there was anything else. I said the acceleration and then he abruptly transferred call.

The check engine light came on, vehicle started shaking when running. Codes showed it was the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft sensor. Both were replaced severall times my a mechanic. Dealership had vehicle for 2 weeks could not figure out what was wrong. Replaced the flexplate. It now makes a grinding noise and check engine light is back on. Now it is stalling several times while driving at any speed. It puts my family at risk and now I cannot leave the neighborhood in fear that it will stall while driving. If we get into an accident with the vehicle stalled no airbags will be reployed. Sometimes it had difficulty starting.

February my husband and I financed this car and within less than one month we been experiencing one issue after another. First, the heater hose had a hole in it then after that was the radiator then after we replaced those two now we have a issue with the exhaust modifier as well a issue with the brakes today the tires locked up on us. Could be related to the issues thats been reported on the newer Dodge Grand Caravan.

I was driving on a 2 lane state route last night around 55 miles per hour. I was behind 4 vehicles. My 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan has 113,982 miles on it suddenly went wild open, I passed 2 of the cars and thank god there was no one coming the other way. I was on the brakes as hard as I could push. I pulled in between the 2 middle cars and had to turn the engine off and get to the side of the road. What can be done about this? thanks, would appreciate any help I can get.

When pulling out onto the main road from the neighborhood, steering failed (stiff as if no power steering and vehicle propulsion failed (foot on the gas produced no forward motion). Vehicle was quiet. Almost like a stall or as if the vehicle was in neutral, but there was no indication that the vehicle had stalled. Driver turned the vehicle off and back on and was able to resume normal driving. This is the third or fourth incident.

The 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan left hand side wiring loom wears on an aluminum obtrusion beneath where it lies. This causes the wire's shielding to be worn off and causes shorting. The engine will die when the wire contacts metal or each other during travel. This problem will cause the engine to die at road speeds leaving the vehicle without steering, brakes, and other safety related equipment. I believe this to be common and undetected because the wear point is on the underside of the wiring loom near the engine. The harness is hard to lift and inspect because of the location and lack of slack at the point of the obtrusion. Vibration causes the short, the vehicle will normally start after coming to a stop when there is no friction between the worn wires. I believe this should be reviewed and analyzed for a recall because of the safety issue involved as others have stated but are unaware of the cause. I have added additional wrapping to limp my vehicle home during a three hour trip. Additionally, this form would not let me select steering, brakes, or other safety features when I selected electrical, which is specifically what causes the safety issues.

My car engine would turn but not start intermittently or stall. Checking the internet, I discovered it is a chronic problem with these vehicles, where the fuel pump relay goes bad. I made a test cable w/led to monitor my fuel pump relay and it confirmed that this is the issue. I see that later models have kits available to address the identical issue, but for some reason do not apply to my model/year,

Vehicle is stalling out without warning. I have noticed it is a common problem with the vans from Dodge and Chrysler. It is dangerous to drive, it stalls in traffic at idle or when pulling into traffic. When it stalls sometimes it will activatee the esp light and set off multiple obd2 codes, orbit will stall and not set off any lights.

The car started to slow down first and not being able to accelerate until everything was dead during which the electronic stability program indicator flashed.the road was dry (no snow or ice). The speed was 25-30 mph in two occasions and 40 mph last time.

I live in troy Michigan and on a trip to go pick up my teenage daughter driving.on M-59 my car started expelling coolant in the form.of steam from underneath the hood and inside the vehicle. I immediate stopped at the closest automotive store.less.than a mile from where it started the incident. It was discovered by the mechanic at bell tire that the steel intercooler lines that run to the interior heater had ruptured. I contacted Chrysler as steel tube should not fail unless some manufacture issue was overlooked. As a senior systems engineer mean time before failure on a component like this should have never happened at the low mileage on the vehicle. I followed up to find.out cost to repair and the sales rep also let me know that a second Grand Caravan 2008 model had just come.in with the same failure. This is absolutely Chrysler failure to engineer this correctly and I would.lile to see this resolved before greater damage is done.

Five separate times while driving this van the engine just shuts down and we coast to a stop. This has happened at various speeds, the last event occurred while driving on the expressway at an aprox. Speed of 55-60 mph. Speed of the van does not seem to matter as we have had this occur at speeds ranging from 15-60 mph. Weather also does not seem to matter as the events happened in winter and summer. We have reported this problem to the Dodge dealership. They kept our van for a week attempting to have the problem occur for them without success. We are fearful every time we drive this van because when the engine shuts off we lose power to the steering and brakes. This is dangerous! Chrysler does not seem to have a solution to this problem. Help!

I was pulling into a parking spot at sam's club in woodbury, mn. As I was pulling in, my van rapidly accelerated and hit the car parked across from me head on. It felt as if I was riding a bumper car and I was whipped around a corner. My vehicle suffered damages at approximately $2600--so it wasn't just a simple bump. I am reasonably certain that this was not user error on my part. The brakes were repaired approximately 2 weeks before the accident.
