While driving, rear window in 2014 Dodge Caravan exploded. Nothing caused this to happen. It was very frightening. Glass was everywhere. I took it to get repaired under my car insurance plan and tried to get help from Kamaaina Motors to report this problem and get my deductable paid for by the dealer, but they are refusing to do anything.

Grand Caravan

  • Automatic transmission
  • 161 miles

Our van was parked in the driveway and some time between 5:00 and 5:30 the rear window shattered. It does not appear to be vandalism since there is no physical evidence and the dog did not bark nor did anyone see or hear anything. There is really no other explanation other than faulty glass. The temperature was in the low 90's and the car was sealed, but I was told that heat is only a factor if the temps are in the 100's. This is our second Grand Caravan and even when the temperature was in the 100's the other van did not have a shattered rear windshield.

rear window spontanious blow out, only 4 moths, purchased

My wife was waiting for the green light to come on to continue and the rear window of her 2014 Grand Caravan 30 year special edition spontaneously shattered. This vehicle has only four months of purchase, called the dealership to see what can be done since it is under warranty. From what I have we will have to pay for this.

Has anyone had a similar problem like this one recently and with a 2014 Dodge?.

Thanks
