I was traveling on I-95 with my child when the drivers seat back suddenly made a loud pop and fell backwards. I fell backwards towards the back seat resulting in my loosing my grip on the wheel, gas, brakes, and thus loosing control of the vehicle. I was in the extrem left hand lane of I-95 traveling South. The vehicle went off into the median at 70mph, I pulled myelf up and fought to regain control of the vehicle. I was able to regain control without incident, pulled over to the emergency lane and found the linkage to the seat back broken. I got off the jupiter Florida exit went to the Dodge dealer where I was told thy did not have time to look at it. I asked if I could leave the vehicle and have a loaner as my vehicle has extended warrenty and was informed they did not do that. I asked if the could at least see if there was something they could easily repair and was told no, I would have to bring the vehicle back after an appointment. I then had to drive the vehicle 30 miles back home with the back of the seat lying in the rear seat.
