I mainly wanted to put this out there because I'm not sure if this is a bigger issue than the dealership led on. I took it in and was told that the reason the water was in the door was because a manufacturer sticker was left on it, covering up the small hole in the door that allows drainage. After the sticker was removed I still have the same issue.

My thinking is the water trapped inside the door messes with the integrity of it. Would that door stand up to an accident like the rest of the doors? My children's safety is the most important thing to me. Yet, I have to worry about whether or not my vehicle will hold up to outside forces.

i have an 09 journey that has spent more time at the dealership then anyplace else, i was in kansas city and noticed a water leak stain on the headliner in the back of my car. when i got home to indiana i took it to the dealership and they took 3 months to fix it, i have had it there 7 times for the same issue since then and they keep telling me its fixed. well guess what its not i have a new spot on the headliner and a wet spot in the back. this car does not have a sunroof so it must be in the roof welds. im so over this car

Journey 2.4L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

This vehicle will be going in for the 3rd time next week.I was not charged for the first 2 because they thought it was under warranty. We found out after the 2nd time it wasn't. Chysler would not admit this was a defect of course, but they didn't charge me in the end. The problem was water coming into vehicle, especially after a lot of rain and water saturating carpet and foam underneath drivers seat and going into back of seat on the floor and cooler compartments. They replaced seal around driver's side door and the door directly in rear door. Dried out interior floor carpet after 2nd return because it was never done the first time. Well, the problem is still happening. Sure would like to know what part of defect Chysler does not understand. This vehicle was purchased in 7/2008 and is a 2009 model.

Update from Feb 28, 2012: Removed all seats and all carpet and found water coming in through behind door side kick panel. Removed cowl panel and repaired incomplete body seam under cowl panel. Also, cleared out pinched weld drains to allow flow.

Update from Mar 29, 2012: 2 weeks tomorrow and car is still at dealer's shop. Suppose to be ready tomorrow after water testing and car wash. Suppose to rain tonight so I told them they should leave it outside and the service advisor said they would. Have been without car for 2 wks. but suppose to be getting new carpet. WOW!!!!!! I will have to pay a $100.00 this time for the work. Dodge calls it GOODWILL I call it like it is COVER-UP.
