problem #5

Journey CRD 2.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 93,206 miles

Yesterday 30/12/2017 I was driving my car to shop normally and back to home and parked. Today 1/12/2017 I started my car as normal, put air conditioning/heating on maximum for windshield and side mirrors and waited till car got warm, about 2-4 minutes since I started heating the car, all icons or warning indicators were lit following indicators = ABS, ESP (Traction Control), Airbag Fault, Battery/Charging Alert. Simply those are all I can remember that were lit, it looked like every indicator was lit at that time. And I thought why are they even lit, I thought that it couldn't be much of a problem, then I decided to go and drive. So I drove normally from parking lot for about 10 meters away, when suddenly car engine felt like diminishing while I drove those 10 meters, then I felt that pressing gas didn't speed up my car, the speed stood at 10 or 15 KM/h steady, switched to second gear to try if it would help, but still it drove only on 10 KM/h even I floored the gas pedal, then I realized my car had problems, so I parked safely to the road. I stopped the car and engine. Then I tried to start it again, but it wouldn't start at all, it would make small click or clack sound from the front, it sounded like an electrical sound. However when I turned the ignition it brought lights on the dash for a moment, but nowhere else. So I feel like my whole engine is dead. Or accumulator isn't charged. If you have some advice or tips before getting my car for fixing are appreciated.

Journey SE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,146 miles

I'm very concern about this problem. Winters are harsh here, and being stranded with my 4 years old daughter and my 7 years old son is very concerning.

Three months ago, it happened first, the car didn't start. My car was 64000. I tried many times, then after an hour, I tried again and started. The following day, it happened again. I tried many times without luck, waited 1 and 3 hours, with no luck. I checked the battery, but it was working fine. I left the car and took the bus (the whole family), I came back the following day (after 12 hours) to pickup the car, and it started. I took it to the garage. I turned off the engine. I tried to start the car. It didn't work. The car technitian tried, and it didn't work, then he wiggled a little the carkey and it started. The same day, at my home, I tried to start the car and it didn't work, then I hit the WIN (where you put the car key in) and tried again and it worked. From that point on, the car continued working for 4 months without a problem. Until yesterday, when at -10 degrees and with my two children, the car didn't start. I tried wiggling the car key, putting the car in neutral, and it didn't start. Then I tried again after waiting for around 20 minutes, and it started. I don't know why. I'm planning to take the car into the garage, and have it checked, but I'm worried they will recommend something that doesn't solve the problem or just makes me spend money to no avail.

When It doesn't want to start, I have tried the following: * Just waited (sometimes 30 mins, 1 hour, or once, 12 hours) * I wiggle the key, it worked once * I hit gently the WIN and it worked once

I'm not sure when it will fail again and worried about taking it to the garage, paying for an inspection and having pieces replaced that don't solve the problem. Please contact me if you had the problem and solve it definitively.

Journey SXT V6

After car has been running, if it is shut off it will not start again until it is cooled off. Wife has been stranded with our kids. Brought to dealer, they say the car is working fine. They offer no help. Last time in it cost me $133 for them to find nothing wrong. Never buy any Dodge product if you value your family's safety.
