I kept hearing what I would call a "jake brake" or "air brake" noise when I would accelerate or decelerate. I took it to my Uncle's shop and we identified that it was in the muffler. Later, I took it in to Dodge, told them the problem (and the location) and they couldn't hear it. I finally had the service manager ride with me and pointed out the noise. He said, "Oh, that's why we couldn't find it. I wouldn't describe that as a "jake brake" moise, we call that a "buzz"." OMG...who are these people? Anyway, turns out it was in the glass packs (which is in the muffler like I told them) and they had to replace the muffler....took 3 days to figure this out when I gave them the answer when I dropped it off.....gotta love that!

Journey ES V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,000 miles

I have had it in the Dealer ship three times. Each time they said it was fixed and each time it was not. I have paid $128.00 to have rocks taken out of heat shield. They said that was the problem. I am now taking it back for the fourth time today. The dealer says it is in the exhaust . But sounds like something in the transmission. Also have had to change the front pads and rotors twice in 60,000 miles. Also the power steering was making noise while turning and the dealer did fix the problem after 4 trips to the dealership. I will never buy another Dodge after this .... EVER!!!!!!
