Journey V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,000 miles

While making a left hand turn into shopping mall, my engine died. I had no power, steering, brakes, etc. The only thing that stopped my roll was a curb!!! I almost got slammed into from behind, the guy laid on his horn screaming at us --- like it was on purpose!!!! I was able to go thru the start motions and restart my car.

I had it towed to the Lucas Dodge in Lumberton and they state that the computer didn't show a engine stall. I was completely terrified. I travel on Route 295, I could have been in the fast lane and who knows if I'd be writing this or my Widower!! Also, my break pedal is now hard to depress. It's been getting worse since we owned the car (about 8 months). If this is a recall, we need to know now, before I am smashed on a highway.

My Journey has been acting up since I got it in Jan. 2014. The radio console blacks out while driving, the instrument cluster blacks out, everything goes silent like the car turns off, and then after a few seconds, it will turn back on, everything is normal again. Once in a while it is just the radio that blacks out and then turns back on. Dodge says that I am the only one experiencing this issue and they can't or don't know how to fix it. It only happens randomly, it will not happen daily but often enough I am concerned for mine and my kids safety. I'm at a loss, I don't know what to do or how to get Dodge to fix it. They are the hardest company I have ever worked with in my entire life, easy to butt kiss, hard to get them to do anything other than an update!

Journey SE 2.4L

WE WERE COMING HOME AFTER A 120 MILE DRIVE, TURNING LEFT INTO SUB-DIVISION, ABOUT 30MPH ENGINE DIED WITH NO WARNING. STARTED BACK UP AFTER PUT INTO PARK AND ACTIVATING START BUTTON, PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY WENT INTO HOUSE. 2 HOURS LATER, LEFT ON AN ERRAND AGAIN, STOPPED WAITING FOR TRAFFIC TO SUBSIDE TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ACROSS A 3 LANE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE DIED LEAVING ME STOPPED ACROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC APPROACHING ME AT 50 MPH AND ME PRAYING THAT I WOULD NOT BE BROAD SIDED WHILE TRYING TO RE-START.

HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO EARNHARDT DODGE IN GILBERT AZ, STILL THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE WHAT'S GOING WRONG. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHICH COULD CAUSE A DEADLY ACCIDENT BECAUSE THERE IS NO WARNING THAT THIS IS GOING TO OCCUR. IF A FIX IS NOT FOUND, WE WILL DISPOSE OF THIS VEHICLE AND HOPEFULLY PURCHASE A DIFFERENT BRAND.
