I am experiencing an engine stall after filling the fuel tank. I have stalled after just leaving the gas station on main roads and even the highway when traffic is at highway speeds of 65+. there have been no accidents to report to law enforcement so I dont have record of that. I called the local dealer before to ask about the recall but they only said it was not on the list and I did not receive a call back. I would like to take my vehicle in for inspection. The issue has been happening for at least a few years (I dont have an exact time frame) but only this last year did the engine light come on. I had the code checked while the light was on and it was not for the aforementioned issue, so I dont think my vehicle is registering the stalling.

The vehicle stalled during normal use traveling about 35 miles an hour right after an intersection. MY husband was able to safely make it off the road as we live in a small town he did this by feathering the accelerator pedal. He is a mechanic so he was able to get it home by lightly tapping the pedal. If he pressed the pedal too hard the car stalled without warning so he lightly tapped on it and made it 2 blocks to our home where it has set in the driveway ever since. We spent over $1000 replacing parts such as the throttle body and the fuel pump and sending unit, egr, pcv, crankshaft sensor, plugs, injectors, intake seals, air intake temperature sensor and throttle body which include the throttle position sensor. Before we went for the cam sensor I decided to look up the issue and found so many with the same problem as us. We are veterans on a semi fixed income with a 10 month old daughter and this is our only vehicle we live in a super hot place in northern Arizona and can not afford further repairs as every part seems to be quite expensive. I don't have the fear of it dying while transporting my daughter again as it won't even stay started since the first incident. Additionally there are no codes or dash indicator lights staying on. We will be contacting Dodge in Kingman Arizona today.

When vehicle has been filled up with gas it will intermittently die until it has around 50 miles on it. Usually sputters and dies without warning leaving you with no steering or brakes. Will restart but die until some fuel is ran out. I have scheduled to have the gas tank replaced but the fee is around $150

In April 2013 I took my 05 Magnum to sunset Dodge in sarasota to find out why the car was stalling after filling the car with gas. After 5 months of going back to them and them not being able to find out what was wrong. I stopped filling the car up all the way and the problem stopped. This is what I need to do to keep the car running. The dealer said it is not our problem. I now find out it was a know issue and many people have the same issue. What can you do.

Car engine quits running after startup following refueling, and several times thereafter, requiring that the engine be restarted each time. It occurs after each refueling. All operational control of the vehicle is lost when the engine quits. I consider this to be a great safety hazard.

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Magnum. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle hesitated and then ceased. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he was able to park on the side of the road and restart the ignition however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The contact called local dealer (napleton's northwestern Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram located at 5950 N western ave, Chicago, il 60659) and informed the dealer of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

Filled fuel tank up as usual then started the car and immediately the car stalled. I restarted it and it stalled again. Started car again while pressing the gas pedal and it drove a few seconds then a super hard misfire and it cut off again. Finally starts and idles terribly...runs terribly for about 10 miles then it seems to balance itself out. It's been happening consistently for the last few years and almost caused someone to rear end me a few times. I hear there's a recall or lifetime warranty on the fuel tank but no notice was ever sent to me.

The vehicle stalls multiple times after a fuel fill up. It's very dangerous because it will stall even while driving in traffic. It could cause an accident if other vehicles don't realize my vehicle has stalled. Up to this point I have thankfully not been the cause of an accident. I try to never fill the tank due to this problem. It usually stops once I have driven a few miles and if I open the fuel door to release the built up vapors.

Vehicle stalls after fueling up. It appears to be the same exact problem that has occurred with the X53 fuel tank. This is an extremely hazardous issue that has been going on since the vehicle was new. The hazard is because a stalled vehicle in the road is now an obstruction and an accident waiting to happen. The fact that this issue was diagnosed on the V8 with a 19 gallon tank and was covered by a Chrysler warranty extension admits the issue was on Chrysler and should be extended to these vehicles as well. Service bulletin 14-002-14 and warranty extension bulletin id-14-01 refer to the exact issue as my vehicle.

My 2005 Magnum rt hemi 5.7 stalls after a fuel fill-up. During normal driving the car suddenly looses power and stalls only after filling the car up at the gas station. I have had the same problem numerous times in the last couple years from 2016-2019. I have found information on this issue under NHTSA report PE13016 listed online and see the investigation was closed. Also see that Dodge supposedly created an "extended recall" for "stalls after fuel fill-up" to include a free gas tank replacement. However this is listed for 2006 vehicles and I am reporting this problem on my 2005 Dodge Magnum rt (5.7 hemi engine). This can be a serious issue if the car stalls in traffic as it could cause an accident with another vehicle. This issue can happen when turning right or left or on a straight section of road the only way to prevent the car from stalling is to use the gear shift to keep the RPM's of the engine higher by being in 2nd or 3rd gear. From searching the internet on this issue I have found many people have had the same problem. When searching on PE13016 or PE13-016 I have found many articles about this. The so called "extended warranty" from Chrysler shows up as missing page for and reference to X53 which is supposedly the "extended recall" for all years of the Dodge Magnum and many other Dodge or Chrysler vehicles. Is it going to take a fatality with this issue for someone to wake up" what do I do now" I have no recall from Dodge or Chrysler about this issue. The issue is only resolved by a gas tank replacement from what I can read online.

When the gas tank is filled, the motor cuts out and stalls when driving, I have to keep the tank at half way to avoid this. My wife filled it up and it stalled on her while she was making a left hand turn in traffic. My child was in the car as well. It appears that this organization as well as Chrysler was aware of this situation. I never received any notification and have been dealing with it for some time now. 05 Dodge Magnum having fuel issues after putting gas in the car. Won't start on first or 3rd time, improper fuel reading at any time while driving sitting still or just running in the yard. The car stalls after filling up mostly. The gas light comes on after filling up, while driving it, sitting still. It no certain time or thing for the light to come on or for the vehicle to stall. A strong odar of gas after you fill up. I never know how much gas is really in the car. I've replaced the fuel pumps on both sides. The check engine light continues to come on before the car starts, while you are driving it, or sitting at a light. I have the light tested and it comes back to the fuel pumps. I've been dealing with this problem for like a month now. The problem continue after replacing both side of the fuel pump.
