Power train - "shift interlock latch" - vechile stuck in park - Dodge will not permit our vechile to be covered by their "customer satisfaction notification K39 transmission shifter interlock lever." Because even though it is the correct model and year, our VIN number is not covered under this recall because it was manufactured in a different location. I say it is the same small plastic flimsy part known as the "shifter interlock lever "that broke. Just as in these other vehicles covered by this recall. Dear NHTSA, please make this Chrysler recall K39 "transmission shifter interlock lever" to cover "all" 2005-2009 model Dodge charger, Magnum, Chrysler 300 equipped with a floor shifter.

Car was in garage at home. I started the engine and was going to back out of garage but could not get shifter out of park. Had car towed to Dodge dealer. Service rep said he's seen other Magnums, 300's and chargers with the same problem. $510 later the car was fixed...entire shifter ass'Y was replaced and car runs fine now. No indication of trouble before it broke but this may be a wide spread problem for Chrysler cars. Please investigate.

Vehicle automatic transmission shifter is "stuck in park". this leaves the driver stranded at a location. This is a very common problem with Dodge and Chrysler 2007 vehicles. (also, circa 2007) a recall was issued for the shifter interlock "pink thing" but only for certain vins. Mine has the same part, but not covered by the recall. If you look on the internet at "Dodge stuck in park" you will see how many people like me are in this same predicament. I am old and have medical problems for which I don't need to be stranded or may need the vehicle to get to a doctor, etc. Chrysler Dodge should issue a recall for the rest of these "stuck in park issues". thanks!

First instance, while slowing down for a stop light felt a shudder and engine shut off, all other systems appeared normal. Coasted to stop, engine restarted without trouble. Near full tank of fuel. Second instance, while in a parking lot shifting from park to reverse engine shut off, all other systems appeared normal and engine restarted without trouble. Filled fuel tank the previous day, 3/4 tank today. Has happened on other occasions while driving at slow speeds but I do not remember the quantity of fuel, each time that car has restarted without instance and each time everything else appeared normal. The engine always seems to run properly and all of the cars other systems seem to operate normally.

Got in car to leave this morning, car started fine......but stuck in park. Called carmax where I purchased the vehicle and was told it was on a possible recall list and that this is a well known problem with the Dodge Magnum. That gentleman suggested I call a Dodge dealership. That gentleman told me it was a known problem but my car is not on a recall list and to have it fixed was gonna cost around $800. Got online found this site, the woman updated my personal info so I would be contacted about future recalls and told me that there is a open recall for the problem I am experiencing but my car is not included"??"..... so I am here to complain. I do not have the money to have my car fixed, I have two young boys. One with autism........I need my car!!!! plz consider adding my car to recall list asap.
