problem #2

Nitro SXT 3.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 131,329 miles

THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SLIPPAGE WITH THE TRANSMISSION SINCE WE PURCHASED IT. HAD IT SERVICED PROBLEM CHECKED FOR AWHILE.THEN LIGHTS, HORN TURNING OFF AND ON BY ITSELF. HAD TIPM RESET SEEMED TO HELP. THEN THROTTLE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON CARS STALLS, STOPS, ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. HAD SEVERAL PARTS REPLACED WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE LATEST ONE IS SAID TO BE PCM--POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE--THE CAR HAS A LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY BUT YET THIS PART IS CONSIDERED PART OF THE EMISSION SYSTEM. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? THE PCM IS 671.62 AT THE DEALER AND HAS NO APPARENT WARRANTY.

HOW CAN SOME VEHICLES WITH DIFFERENT VINS GET REPLACEMENT FOR RECALL PARTS AND OTHERS DON'T? AT LEAST PLACE THIS VEHICLE WITH THOSE EXPERIENCING THESE SAME PROBLEMS?

Nitro RT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,000 miles

I have already replaced the transmission, thankfully that was under warranty. Replaced windshield washers at 50,00 miles, my door handle broke, that was a $500 fix! Computer switches replaced, unreal!
