problem #2

Jun 082006

Ram 1500 Magnum 5.9L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,551 miles

since I bought this truck in 2006 it has had this issue that no one can figure out, whether hot or cold, when I start the truck it will sound like it wants to stall out, if I try to go it will sputter and feel like it's not getting any gas, then all of a sudden it will pick up and drive okay. If I let the truck idle it will stall out and if I try to drive it sometimes I need to shut it off and turn it back on, if I do this it will take off all by itself rpm's race and hard to get it under control. I've changed both o2 sensors, pcv valve, iat sensor, temp sensor, fuel filter, etc nothing has stopped this problem. If I stop and go it will do this thing every time. Another mechanic now thinks it's the computer(brain) of the truck having an issue. Any assistance will be very appreciated.

Ram 1500 1500 5.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,500 miles

My truck is sputtering hard. I'm up to 40-50mph & its starts sputtering like a kick back almost. It will do it 4-5 times or so & then be fine. It can happen once or a bunch of times while I'm driving. I added fuel injector cleaner and drove 20 miles or so but its still there...not sure the cause...plugs/wires?
