Ram 1500 5.9L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 121,000 miles

Truck was running fine. I hadn't hardly had any issues with it. Went outside last Tuesday to get in my truck and go to work. I started the engine, put it in reverse and gave it some gas and my truck wouldn't move. It is going in gear but the truck will not move at all in reverse. All other gears work, just not reverse.

Ram 1500 1500 5.9L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 135,000 miles

When I first began having problems, the stupid f*ckin thing would shift into overdrive at like 15mph.... You ever drove a 5speed and tried to stop in 5th gear?! It's f*cking retarded shaky, and when I go to take off, the truck feels like it has NO BALLS..... So I was shifting it manually from 2nd gear up and when I slowed down same thing. Then one day I'm driving down the interstate, and BAM bitch slams into 1st gear, puffed a little smoke and that was it.. I go up two roads and then she was shifting like a DREAM no manual shifting, had all gears.... Then turn on the next road and surprise surprise, back to only having 1st gear. So I drove the POS around in first gear the rest of the day, until it completely stopped moving.

The linkage moves like it should, but I have no gears. Not even reverse. Been told torque converter, valve body, shift sensor solenoid (for when it was going in overdrive), clutches in the torque converter...... Yet I still have no f*cking clue what the problem actually is.. Trucks been sitting with about $7000 owed on it. F*CK DODGE & CHRYSLER PRODUCTS.

Anyone have any thoughts on this or ever had the same problem?! It sure would be nice to know what is wrong with the stupid thing. And being that I am a girl, I only know enough to get myself in trouble.

Ram 1500 1500 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I bought my truck at car lot in greeneville. It is a 2002 ram 1500 4x4. I have done nothing but spend money on it so I finally thought I had every thing fixed, and my transmission was starting to act up. It only had 70000 miles on it and they said I need a new transmission that cost 3600 so I told them to stick it.

Ram 1500

  • 60,000 miles

Purchased as a used vehicle, it came with a blown U-Joint, which was replaced. A few months later, the transmissions started slipping when I'd pull away, and would eventually engage. Shift changes were often harsh. Eventually, the second gear went out on the transmission, and it had to be replaced. Now it is starting to happen again, and I cannot undergo the expense of replacing it again.
