The camshaft is defective and prematurely wearing down due to the lifters. Causing a warning code to come on give a p0300 code and and check engine light to flash at a random mulitipule misfire to come up will cause the truck to die at times causing a crash. Luckily I was able to park it before that happened and now can't drive it because of the saftey Hazzard.

When raining the engine misfires to the point of stalling the engine and when hitting the gas the engine will big down when idleing for more that 10 minutes the engine idles rough and begins to putter and stahls out. The rear differential but came loose causing the pinion gear to shift which had resulted in a loud whirling sound when driving at any speed and gets louder when the faster the truck goes and also clunks when coming to a stop. When hitting the brake pedal the front passenger blinker/running light illuminates. Front driver side wheel bearing consistently fails after 8,000-20,000 miles causing a loud humming noise and causing me tons of money. Check engine light comes on telling me to check gas cap even though I've replace it twice now which leads me to believe there is a engineering defect and also through the code for misfire in cylinder 7 even though I've replaced the spark plugs and coils after the code was generated and it went if for about 4 weeks and came back on. I'm conclusion I believe Chrysler is knowingly selling unsafe and, unreliable vehicles which end to costing the consumer thousands in repairs and time something we can't get back. This has been happening since 20,000-40,000 miles into owning the vehicle. My vehicle was manufactured 05/2005 but is titled as a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 slt crew cab

Traveling down the highway at 65mph when the engine just shut off and luckily I pulled into the shoulder and put the truck in park and turned the ignition and the truck came on line nothing was wrong, this has happened a handful of times and also has happened when sitting at a light and accelerating into the intersection when the truck engine shuts off leaving me to shift into park which N quickly and then restart the truck and get one of dangers way. This is very very scary and I absolutely refuse to let anyone ride in my backseat out of fear I'll stahl out and get T-boned.

About 2 1/2 years ago I was driving my truck on a state highway travelling around 55 to 60 mph when the engine suddenly died. Of course my power steering no longer worked but I was able to pull off the road. This was a scary situation that could have turned out very badly. Luckily, I was in a spot where I could pull over. This particular highway doesn't have a lot of shoulder area. I turned the key off and turned it back on and the truck started back up and everything was fine. This happened a couple of more times when I was travelling on the highway at higher speeds and also driving on a city street at lower speeds. I took it to my mechanic and he connected a code reader and based on the codes it was showing he changed both the cam shaft position sensor and the crank shaft position sensor but the engine continued to die while the vehicle was in motion. The last time it happened was on 1/21/2018 on the same state highway except that this time it didn't want to start back up. I had it towed to a different mechanic and he ran compression tests that showed very little compression on one side of the engine and no compression on the other side. He said he wouldn't be able to tell me what was wrong with it until he opened the engine which would cost several hundred dollars and then who knows how much after the problem was determined. I have not had the money to do that so it has been sitting at the mechanic's garage for the past 2 1/2 years. Every other mechanic I talked to said that I should just go ahead and replace the engine, which I cannot afford to do. They said 2006 was one of the worst years for the Dodge Ram engine. When it died it was 11 years old but had less than 110,000 miles on it.

Owner of J.P. direct auto sales in florence, ky sold me a vehicle with odometer discrepancies. The owner sold the vehicle at a little over 133,000 miles but the odometer has never rolled over since I drove the truck off the lot. Furthermore, a mechanic performed an engine light reading that indicated an issue tripped around 146,000 miles. The owner is not owning up to the odometer discrepancy and making returning the truck very difficult.

Without any warning, no gauge signs or anything, the truck just shut down. It would not start again and the engine seems to be locked up it will not crank over. I was sitting at a stop light and the check engine light came on, oil gauge dropped, and the truck shut off all within seconds. Not a good situation I was lucky that I was not on an interstate going 60 or 70 miles an hour.

2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Vehicle would shut down while driving. Engine would crank but not turn over. Mechanic had to tear into engine to find the problem. Rods bent, valve sticking, timing chain jump. Basically the engine was shot. Repair cost $3,000. It appears that a lot of other people have the same problem and it cannot be diagnosed without tearing into the engine. Also turn signal would blink opposite of where turning. Dodge needs to do something about this. These are safety issues! I would like to be reimbursed my costs. Mileage on vehicle: 158,000. Interesting enough, I have a 2001 Dodge Ram that has over 307,000 miles on it and never had this problem.
