The contact owns a 2006 Dodge ram1500. While driving 50 mph the vehicle started to shake and then the drivers side wheel fell off the vehicle. The contact lost control of the vehicle when the failure occurred and crashed into a guard rail. The driver sustained an injury to his head and back, but was not taken to the hospital. A police report was filed. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 10E040000 (wheels:cap/cover/hub), but was told by the manufacturer that his VIN was not associated with the recall. The failure and current mileage was 30,000.

Ram 1500

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph when she noticed an abnormal noise. Within several seconds, the vehicle came to an independent stop and the contact was unable to move the vehicle. She discovered that the front driver side wheel had turned horizontal which caused the failure. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the vehicle was repaired. The dealer advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 10E040000 (wheels:cap/cover/hub). The manufacturer offered no assistance. There were photos available. The current and failure mileage was approximately 54,900.
