Ram 1500 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,753 miles

Bought this truck and first t8me out 4WD lock don't work 4WD auto does. Later on during a very steep incline forward I lost all 4wd. 1a auto has a video on the retainer for the output shaft. The washer/clip snaps in half causing misalignment. Seems like a very simple fix.

Ram 1500 Big Horn Edition 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 96,838 miles

While driving at various speeds and also sitting idle, the truck tries to engage 4WD LOW. Dealership has replaced the Front Actuator, Flashed the TIPM on 8/28/15. Didn't leave the dealers lot and the Truck was still shifting into 4wd on its own. Back to the garage it went.

Been told it could be the AC pressure switch, TIPM, Transfer Case Actuator Motor. Awaiting transfer case motor to be replaced to fix my issue. Still waiting for dealer to say that it is fixed.

The truck is presenting UNSAFE driving conditions and the dealership doesn't even know what is wrong with it.

The problem still happens as of 9/20/15. Currently have $1,000 dollars in repairs and no truck to drive....

Ram 1500 SLT Hemi 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,253 miles

Hunting season 08,i made the mistake of trying to use my 4 wheel drive at the bottom of a hill on a dead end lease road.4 wheel wouldn't engage, when i put it back into 2 wheel the 4 auto light wouldn't go off, heater fan would go off and on,gauges would all flip all over the place.I then made another mistake and shut the key off and tried to restart it,wouldn't start and smoke coming from fuse box.Towed 2 dodge who replaced the motor on the transfer case and the tipman board under the hood (after two weeks waiting for parts). They said all fixed and good to go,three days later i tried to use four auto again on the highway in a snowstorm, guess what??Has been back in dodge since, they replaced all the same parts and still no go.Now they wont look at till after new years.Im paying for a new truck thats been in the shop for over a month now.The last dodge that i will buy!!!
