Ram 1500 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 96,000 miles

I don't know why Chrysler don't look into all rear ends in Dodge pick-up trucks. They recalled 2005, 2009 and 2010 for the pinion nut coming loose and locking up the rear ends. I have a 2007 1500 Ram and the rear-end just went with only 96000 on it. Now in the process to have truck towed to shop and have to get a rent a car. Shop is not sure if they can replace the gear in differential or replace the whole thing.

We live out in country, just came off interstate 10 in Kerr County Texas.( 80 mph) which is posted limit. Turned onto our road and the rear end LOCKED UP and DRIVE SHAFT fell out!!!! It started with a pop and push-pull feeling, then it would NOT move. We turned it off got out and looked under it. THE REAR AXLE WOULD NOT MOVE< IT IS LOCKED UP !!!!!!!

I'm Disabled, this is my vehicle that takes me to Therapy and Doctor Appointments, which is frequent. I'm on Disability....

For some reason there IS a RECALL on this problem, but NOT mine. WHY!!!!!!!!!! Because it's not manual. BULL, BULL, BULL!!!!!!!!!!

I THANK THE LORD ABOVE IT DIDN'T, had happened while on the interstate, YOU would be burying me and/or my husband. It scared me to death. I also have a pacemaker. Anyway. How in the world do I make PAYMENTS on this truck we just had gotten a few months back and try to FIX it too while on DISABILITY? My husband is Retired. We make $1100 a month.

I've owned some good Dodges, but this keeps up I'M GOING BACK TO CHEVROLET !!!!!!!!
