problem #1

Ram 1500 Bighorn 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 43,000 miles

Purchased this vehicle in August of 2014 and issue presented itself 1 month later. The brake pedal has excess play in it shifting to the left and right about 1/4 of an inch. When normal driving, brake pedal rattles violently depending on road condition. When turning left or right, brake pedal rattles violently. It functions, and brakes the truck normally when on flat terrain, but the pedal has a lot of play in it, left and right. "NOT NORMAL!!" I took it to my local dealer in September of 2014, and they said that the bearings and retainers on each side of the shaft that the brake pedal pivots on are loose, and they could try and tighten them somehow. Or, I could pay almost $600.00 for a whole new assembly. Not this guy. That should be a warranty coverage. The supposed adjustment didn't work, it still rattles violently. I have read and heard of many, many other owners of this year having the same problem. Do a recall Dodge, and fix the problem.
