problem #11

Ram 2500 4WD 10-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16 miles
After driving 5 or 10 minutes vehicle lost power and stalled. Consumer contacted the manufacturer, and had taken it to dealer on several occasions. But problem recurred. Vehicle was under warranty. However, the warranty did not cover the problems of the vehicle, and consumer had to pay out of pocket. The consumer had little control of the vehicle's steering while driving. Antifreeze leaked from the vehicle. The engine flooded and stall. The vehicle ran rough prior to reaching 75 mph. Occasionally the serpentine belt ran crooked on the pulley and broke. The exhaust system leaked. The fuel tank was not properly fitted to the holders. The transmission leaked fluid.

Ram 2500 Diesel

Fuel sensor fluttered between half to empty, then went empty, and it happened a second time, again same hing, we have not replaced it yet, because you have to drop the tank.the equipment is faulty as least, don't know how it survived in diesel, no reading on fuel in tank, dangeous if you don't keep milege/fillup, could cause serious accident on interstate if you ran out and didn''t know what was happening at first.

The fuel guage has been replaced in my truck twice and still doesn't work(it reads empty all of the time) the fuel warning light is always on also. My father has a 1997 Dodge pickup with the same problem, also a good friend of ours has a 1995 Dodge pickup with the exact same problem. To say the least we're all fed up with it.

Fuel sensor will fluctuate and then go to empty and remain there. Also, ignition switch began overheating, burning the insulation around the A/C wiring attached to the steering column. In addition, throttle position sensor, with heat on, would jump to 3000-4000 rpms.
