Ram 3500 3500 5.9L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

I purchased my 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel in November of 2005 and have put over $15,000 of extras into my vehicle. I took my vehicle back to the dealer for an oil change and in doing so the dealer put this recall 05v462000 on my vehicle. This device alerts the operator of the vehicle if they try and exit the vehicle if it is not fully in park. I use my vehicle for hunting and hauling trailers and am required at times to back my vehicle up with the door partially open. Now since this recall has been added to my vehicle which I did not authorize the horn blasts. If I try and get out of my vehicle to soon after putting the vehicle in park the horn again blasts. If this vehicle had this ridiculous option when I was looking to buy a truck I would not have purchased it, now without my permission this useless annoying option was added. I thought this was my truck, I don't want this option and should have the choice to keep it or have it removed. I have spoke to Daimler Chrysler and they will not help me. I have spoken to the dealer and they will not help me. I have e-mailed the complaint department and was told that I would have an answer within 3 days. I have not heard from anyone. I have over $75,000 into my vehicle to get it the way I want it but can no longer use it the way I want because I cant remove this ridiculous device they have programed into it. I have not and will not let this go until I get some satisfaction in relation to this ridiculous device. What Daimler is telling me is that even though this is my vehicle I have no rights to it. I am afraid to take it into the dealer any longer as I don't know what other idiotic device they are going to put on it without my permission.
