C-Max Hybrid SE

  • CVT transmission
  • 33,900 miles

When letting go of the steering wheel for a few seconds, the C-Max starts to wander to the left (sometimes it wanders to the right) and does not track straight. I notice it more when coming to a red light or a stop sign. The car will start to wonder over into the shoulder, not even 5 seconds after I have taken my hand off the wheel. The problem is definitely not with me, as I drove a 2013 Escape for several years without any steering issues, the steering was smooth and predictable.

If I need to reach for the A/C controls while I'm driving, for example, I have to be ready to control the car's unwanted movements.

It's like I am constantly fighting with the car to keep it under control. I have told two Ford service departments about the issue and they told me nothing was wrong. A car should be able to travel in a straight line down the road when quickly taking your hands off the wheel for a few seconds. DANGEROUS!

Shame on Ford for creating the poor design of this vehicle and for not listening to it's customers!

This will likely be my last Ford! Good riddance!!!
