While driving down the interstate, I noticed a noise and strange feeling in the steering wheel. It felt like the car's engine had shut off. I pulled over, but the car was still running. However, the alternator light was on and there was no response from the power steering. Upon examination, the serpentine belt had come off due to an apparent seizure of the tensioner pulley. It had melted and fallen off. The heat was great enough to leave drops of molten aluminum on the shroud underneath and the pulley itself was melted into it as well. My whole family was in the car at the time and we beleive that under other driving conditions or circumstances this could have caused a deadly crash. Thank you for your time, lemuel justice.
