E-350 6.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 113,000 miles

Coming home from a great camping trip, all of a sudden we heard a noise. At first we thought one of the kayaks on the roof had come loose. All of a sudden I had a low oil pressure warning, then a reduced engine power warning and then total engine shut down. We coasted off to the side of the road.

We had to have the truck towed to the shop. When they got the top off the engine, they discovered the entire engine was destroyed and the only option was a brand new engine.

The truck only has 113,000 miles on it, was very well maintained and taken care of. I bought it used, so I have no choice but to buy a new engine.

It's really too bad as it seems there are a lot of issues out there in this time period. I do not have any recourse except to enter this complaint hoping it will help someone in the future.

I will drive the truck the 2 years until my new engine warranty is up and then trade it in for a new GMC.
