Three months after I bought the pre-owned 2007 Ford Edge in 2010 the heater core failed. Ford replaced it under warranty. It failed again two months later and they replaced it again. It failed again in 2013 and they replaced it again. It fail at the beginning of this month (12/2/15) only now Ford is saying it is out of warranty and they will not cover the cost. The failed heater core does cause intermittent overheating.

I would like to file a class action suit against Ford for this issue, but need four other 2007 Edge owners who have experienced the same issue and would like to file.

I have a 2007 Ford Edge that was in the shop in 2010 for a clogged heater core (heater not working). After it was in the shop for about a month and finally getting the correct flush product they finally got it working (a little better) Since then it was being driven in south Florida. (didn't need the heat). Brought it back to Georgia and noticed the heat not working again. Then the engine overheated. Ford said the radiator was clogged and wanted to replace it. After replacing it, there was still no heat coming out. Heater core is still clogged and it probably clogged the radiator. I am working with Ford to get this resolved. The Edge has 92000 miles and is over 6 years old. They say it is not covered under the warranty even though I spent the money for the 6 yr 100,000 mile warranty. Waiting on a call back from Ford. It is still in the shop. I don't think I should have to pay for a radiator and a new heater core because this was a problem in 2010 that was not corrected when it was under warranty and recall. I have read that since it was in the shop the first time they extended the warranty for 6 years and 100,000 miles. I believe I need a refund for the extended warranty I bought.

Update from Jan 18, 2013: I spoke with Ford customer service and they are going to fix the car at no cost to me. They have extended the warranty on the heater core to 6 years 105,000 miles. It took persistence on my part to get this. I found a complaint on line similar to the one I had and noticed they fixed their heater core. I made my case that the clog in the radiator was from the heater core and they agreed.

Update from Jan 23, 2013: NEVER believe what Ford Customer Relations people tell you. I called the dealer to see when the Edge will be ready. He advised me I owed over $900!!. He said Ford only told him to flush the heater core till the heat came out hot. He said I had to pay for the radiator. I have since called Ford 3 different times. They said that the rep told me incorrectly and should not have told me I didn't have to pay anything. I had emailed Ford vice president in charge of crossovers. They called me back and said I still had to pay. I have contacted the media to see if I can get any help.

Update from Jan 24, 2013: I was asked if I wanted to replace the heater core after they said I had to pay for the radiator. I said no not unless it is under warranty. Ford should have replaced the heater core at that point. Instead, they flushed the h eater core again charging me again, and said it was fixed. I am not sure if this will ever get fixed. I paid for the radiator today came to $875.18. My husband needs his car and it has been in the shop since Jan 1. I got all the paperwork from the dealer showing that Ford said to replace the heater core. It was not done.
