My wife said it was very scary at the time. The only way I found out what the problem was I took it to AMCO TRANSMISSION and told them what was happening. They said they new what the problem was because they worked on a couple ford edges and it was the sensor in the Transmission. They fixed the problem and haven't had any problems since.

Was driving my car when it began to stutter and then turn off. Had it towed to the dealership and found out it had a bad coil and PCM. Looked online and found out that it is a known problem and occurs quite frequently because there is no protection between the two. Ford is taking no responsibility for the problem and is going to continue to make ford owners fork out the money for repair. Customer service rep said to save the receipts just in case they decided to do something about the problem.. and then added that there was a recall for a faulty seam in the fuel tank. Sounds like I should just let the fuel tank ignite the whole car and then let them take responsibility for it all....

speedometer stopped lights on dash then car would not move

Was driving about 45-50 miles an hour with an employee going to a meeting. Car was driving fine all the sudden the speedometer stopped went to 0, the mileage was all dashes, then the airbag, wrench and tire ! lights all came on. I was trying to make it to the gas station 2 miles up the road. We came to a stop light so I slowed down then stopped when the light turned green i pressed the gas pedal and the car would not move, I slowly drifted to the side of the road. This is a busy intersection so it was not safe and had cars loading up behind me and trying to get around me. I shut the car off waited several minutes when I turned the car back on the lights were out and the speedometer worked, when I turned the car fully on there was a very odd popping or clunking noise I put the car in drive and the same odd noise, then I pressed the gas pedal and again the car was not going anywhere. I'm a single mother with two children, who can't afford for this to happen luckily there was no accident, however now my car is being towed and I'm out a vehicle until some one can tell me what the heck happened. This is even if I will be able to pay for what ever is wrong. First time this has ever happened I'm mad and embarrassed on top of it. I know I can't drive the car as it's unsafe, what to do now????
